Sempervivums (houseleeks) make perfect plants for troughs, pots or crevices in a rock garden. A single rosette, will produce offsets in following years, eventually making undulating spreading masses. The individual rosettes will eventually produce a star-like flower, on a sturdy stem. En-masse flowering is a quite a sight. Each individual plant is monocarpic, so after flowering it dies off, but any gaps are quickly filled by new offsets. Many of our plants for sale are propagated from Beth's long term collection. Colours of individual forms can vary considerably at various points in the year.
Succulents, many also from Beth's collection, typically tender, so best in pots, troughs etc, but in very sheltered gardens, eg coastal, protected from winter wet, they may come through the winter.
