Sium

As with all umbellifers, the heads of numerous small flowers provide a huge resource of nectar and pollen for a wide range of insects from tiny pollen-beetles to large hoverflies. Some species, the water-parsnips, are all plants that grow out of or around water, and so provide the essential habitat structure and complexity that invertebrates and amphibians rely upon.
