Glyceria

Glyceria species are generally wetland grasses that sometimes grow in dense beds out of water. They all harbour a good range of aquatic invertebrates, giving shelter to pond-snails and reed-beetles, for example, along with amphibians, while large enough stands of the upright species can support breeding birds such as reed warbler.
