Marsh marigolds suitable for wet ground, pond edge, providing heart-shaped to rounded leaves, with a soft, fleshy feel. The cup-shaped white to yellow flowers light up spring. Double forms add extra interest.

A familiar native wetland plant, the large buttercup-like flowers of marsh marigold have abundant nectar and pollen that attracts many insects, especially bees, hoverflies and beetles. Forms with more than the standard five petal-like sepals provide fewer resources. The large leaves especially at the water's edge provide shelter for a wide range of aquatic invertebrates such as pond snails, and amphibians.
