Stiff leafy stems support wide candelabra-like heads, studded with tassel-shaped semi-double white flowers. Early-midsummer. In its British native form, it's a pasture herb, with sky blue flowers, whereas in Italy it has been cultivated into many forms, which we know as Italian chicory, or raddichio. Also known as C. intybus 'Album'.
