Details

A beautiful feature plant, which prefers a well-drained soil, against a warm west or south wall. Forms a large shrub, with smooth green stems, topped with whorls of long narrow, acid-green leaves, each striped with a central white vein. These often take on colourful hues in autumn. In late spring these carry round heads of curious knobbly orangey-red flowers, heavily scented like honey, followed by pea-like fruits. Harmful if eaten. Skin and eye irritant.
