From Cassian Schmidt (Hermannshof Gardens, Germany) comes this almost unknown ornamental grass. Purple, airy tall flower stems, held well above the foliage, in summer to autumn. Native from France, souther Europe, the Middle East and into China. Trialling on our exposed sand bank, where is has made a low tuft of evergreen leaves.
