A feature all the year are clumps of narrow, dark evergreen leaves. In autumn curious spikes of violet-blue flowers appear which never really open, looking rather like grape-hyacinths. Cut the foliage down occasionally in spring, to allow the new foliage room to show itself off.

Is Big Blue Lily turf invasive? I have bought six plants from you to make an edge to a dry shady bed. My neighbour looked concerned when I showed them to him, saying he had experienced difficulties with the plant spreading out of control and suggested planting in pots. Thank you.
This is not considered invasive in the UK
