Perhaps the loveliest of lavenders but it must have a warm well-drained site in full sun. The slightly broader than usual leaves are so felted they appear almost white, perfect to set off very dark purplish-blue flower spikes. Mid-late summer. A well rounded bush under a warm wall is a sight to treasure.

Is the Wooly Lavender perfumed, I have a lavender hedge but get’s too tall & falls over onto pavement, need to establish new hedging .
Its fragrance is lighter and more resinous than classic English lavender (Lavandula angustifolia). Think soft herbal, slightly balsamic, with a hint of camphor, rather than a strong sweet floral punch.
