Leymus arenarius

In full bloom this stands over a metre high. Stiff wheat-like flowers, stems and leaves all a vivid grey-blue. This is a handsome feature plant in poor, hot, dry soil. Not a grass for small gardens unless in a container. The wheat is splendid for drieds.
