Fragaria chiloensis 'Chaval'

Although its pink leaf stalks are 15 cm long, this plant appears to hug the soil, forming close-knit, wide-spreading carpets of small polished evergreen leaves. Makes quick and handsome ground cover beneath trees and shrubs (in sun too), ideal to set off bulbs, from snowdrops to late summer lilies.
