Thalictrum aquilegiifolium

From a basal clump of grey-green leaves, finely divided, slender purple stems ascend carrying pretty fans of leaves, topped with large heads of unmistakable fluffy, rosy-lilac flowers. Seed heads are good, green or dried but remember to remove the spent flower heads if you don't want much seeding around. Very adaptable and will grow in most soils in sun or part shade. Early to midsummer.
