Phormium cookianum 'Tricolor'

An evergreen perennial making a large clump of sword-shaped leaves striped with yellow and green, edged with red. Flowers yellowish-green, in large panicles appear on mature plants in summer. Looks great situated next to water and as a backdrop for other perennials. The fibre from the foliage has been used for rope and cloth. Try cutting to foliage near the base to see how tough the leaves are.
