Leycesteria formosa 'Purple Rains'

Sturdy hollow shoots, sometimes with a white bloom, hold pairs of large, long-tipped leaves. Drooping racemes, of white, honeysuckle-like flowers, held by startling purple-red bracts, during summer through to autumn, followed by dark fleshy berries.
