Spartium junceum

Spanish broom. An upright shrub with slender dark green stems and leaves. Many fragrant, golden yellow from early summer to early autumn followed by flattened dark seed pods. Within our Gravel Garden, they are used as solid points as a contrast to the softer herbaceous planting. Prune after flowering to maintain scale.
