Resembling our native lady's slipper but easier to grow in the garden. It derives vigour both from C. parviflorum (native to North America) and its hybrid nature. Strong-growing it has slightly larger flowers than C. parviflorum. It has a slightly scented yellow slipper and dusky red-brown twisted petals, which open in mid-May. It is a good garden plant given light shade and a humus rich soil.
