Bursary terms and conditions

By applying for and accepting a Beth Chatto Education Trust bursary ticket, applicants agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. Eligibility and Award of Places
Bursary tickets are awarded at the discretion of the Beth Chatto Education Trust. All decisions are final. All applicants will be notified by email of the Trust’s decision.
2. Non-Transferable Tickets
Bursary ticket offers are made to the named individual only and cannot be transferred, sold, or gifted to another person under any circumstances.
3. Attendance Commitment
If you are awarded a bursary place and later find that you are unable to attend, you must notify the Trust as soon as possible. This allows the place to be offered to another applicant.
Failure to attend without prior notice may affect eligibility for future bursary opportunities.
4. Event Inclusions
Your bursary ticket includes:
- Two days of lectures at the University of Essex
- Entry to the Garden Party at Beth Chatto Gardens
- Talks and workshops at the Beth Chatto Gardens on Saturday 29 August
Food and drink are included during the University of Essex lecture days and at the Garden Party.
Food and drink on Saturday 29 August at the Gardens are not included but will be available to purchase on site.
5. Travel and Accommodation
Please note that travel and accommodation are not included as part of the bursary ticket. These costs are the responsibility of the attendee.
6. Social Media and Promotion
Bursary recipients will be encouraged to share their experience of attending the symposium on social media platforms and to help promote the work of the Beth Chatto Education Trust where possible.
7. Feedback and Learning Report
As part of accepting a bursary place, attendees agree to provide a short written report and feedback following the event. This helps us understand the impact of the programme and supports future educational funding.
8. Photography and Media
Group photographs and general event imagery will be taken during the symposium. By accepting a bursary ticket, attendees agree that these images may be used by the Beth Chatto Education Trust for promotional, educational and archival purposes.
9. Changes to Programme
The Trust reserves the right to make changes to the event programme, speakers, or schedule where necessary.
