What is included in the ticket price?
In-person ticket- includes two days of lectures, refreshments and lunch on both days.
A garden party at The Beth Chatto Gardens on the evening of Thursday 27th August. Includes coach transport from the university and back again with food and drink for the evening.
A third day of tours, talks and workshops will be held at the Gardens on Saturday 29th August.
A recording of lectures at the university will be sent out after the event.
Livestream ticket- live access to the lectures for the two days.

Will my dietary requirements be catered for?
We will be offering vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options.
There is an option to select your dietary requirements at the time of booking.

Can I park for free?
Yes, you can park for free at the university on the 27th & 28th August and at the Beth Chatto Gardens.

Can I get a refund if I change my mind before attending?
Tickets are non-refundable.

I’ve changed my mind and want to alter my ticket from an in-person ticket to the livestream option.
Unfortunately tickets are non-transferable.

Where can I find information about the schedule?
The schedule of speakers will be included in our symposium programme which delegates will receive when they arrive for registration on Thursday 27th August.

What will I need to bring as proof of purchase?
We will send out a confirmation email with a QR code to be scanned as you enter the lecture theatre.
Attendees will be issued with a wrist band to wear for the duration.
We will have a list of attendees, so don’t worry if there are any issues with your code.

Can I attend for only one of the days?
Unfortunately the symposium tickets cannot be split into separate days and cannot be split between two people.

The symposium will be held at the University of Essex in the Ivor Crewe Lecture Theatre-

The garden party and third day will be held at The Beth Chatto Gardens-

What will I need to bring with me?
You will need your booking confirmation QR code and proof of student status (if applicable).
We also suggest a pen, notebook, and a water bottle (there are refill stations).

Can I spreading the cost of my ticket?
Yes, we are now offering the option to spread the cost of your early bird tickets into smaller monthly payments.

How do I get to the university?
By Car –
The postcode for the university is CO4 3SQ (for SatNav purposes use CO7 9HT which will take you to the main Wivenhoe Entrance)
When you arrive in Colchester, follow the road signs to the University (off the A133) to access the main visitor car parks, which is via the B1028, Colchester Road.
Public Transport -
Greater Anglia provides frequent trains from London Liverpool Street to Colchester (also known as Colchester North) and Wivenhoe station.
You can get a bus or taxi from Colchester station.
Wivenhoe station is a 40 minute walk to the university and there are buses that run roughly every 20 minutes from the station to the University. First Bus
