An aromatic shrub with dense upright stems and narrow bright green leaves. Slender spikes of funnel-shaped dark blue flowers from mid-summer to early autumn. The leaves have a slightly bitter, minty flavour, but small quantities can be added to salads, or to spice up soups and sources. Flowers can be added to dishes.
