A stocky variety, forming clumps of intense grey-blue leaves with grey flower heads, tinged red. As the temperature drops in autumn, its leaves take on a magnificent, flaming cardinal red. Perfectly hardy, it will keep it's stems and seedheads well into winter most years giving a good contrast to dark seedheads.
