Pachysandra makes the classic ground cover in shade, spreading by underground rhizomes in well-drained moist soil, which has plenty of organic matter added. This new variety is outstanding with the glossiest evergreen leaves, topped in early spring with short spikes of small white flowers.

How fast do these grow and when is best planting time please?
Pachysandra terminalis ‘Green Sheen’ is generally considered a slow to moderate-growing evergreen groundcover rather than a fast spreader like some other groundcovers. Mature plants tend to spread gradually; around 3–6 inches (8–15 cm) per year when conditions are good. Plant after the risk of hard frost has passed.
