Onosma

A charming group of perennials, often with woody bases, but remaining relatively small. Leaves, hairy in rosettes. Flowers pendent, in curved clusters (as with other members of Boraginaceae), generally yellow, white, orange, pink. Good for a sunny garden position, on a free-draining soil.

The tubular, drooping flowers of all golden-drops have copious pollen and nectar that attracts insects, especially bumblebees, throughout the early summer flowering season. Being very drought-tolerant, they can continue to provide this ecosystem service even in the most stressful conditions.
