Astilboides

One species, from China and Korea. Similar to Darmera but the flowers appear above the leaves, during summer (unlike Darmera which flowers early spring). Large lobed leaves.

The frothy heads of whitish flowers attract pollinators particularly flies and other insects that are happy to forage in shady spots.
