Jasione

Reminiscent of a small Scabious, with small rounded heads of small blue flowers. Often found in short grass, dunes, rocky places, so enjoying a full sun position, in a rock garden, alpine trough etc.

With almost composite-like heads of tiny flowers, each with a supply of nectar and pollen, the sheep's-bits are very valuable to bees and flies in sunny spots, while the often dense cushions of leaves provide refuge for amphibians and invertebrates in a dry garden.
