• By bus...From Colchester Bus Station: No.76 Colchester - Clacton (via Essex University). There is a request stop just at the exit to the village of Elmstead Market. The gardens are then about a half mile walk.

• By train...The nearest stations are Colchester North and Wivenhoe, both of these are on the main line from Liverpool street. There is no bus service from Wivenhoe, but taxis are available.
