Buphthalmum

Native to Europe, yellow ox-eye are deciduous perennials, with yellow daisy-like flowers in summer.

As with all 'daisy-like' flowers, the disc-flowers in the centre of the single flowerhead at the end of each shoot produce nectar and pollen that are attractive to insects. They are particularly favoured by bumblebees, honeybees, leaf-cutter bees, hoverflies and some butterflies. While locally established in this country, in natural habitats outside of gardens at present this does not seem to be a significant problem.
